New name? What's that about???

As explained in the last two newsletters (available on this website), we have chosen to become Encentus Federal Credit Union for several reasons.  In 2008, we actually expanded our field of membership to ensure all St. John employees, including those working in Sapulpa, Bartlesville, and other areas outside of Tulsa, could legally join.  To include them, the easiest thing to do was to include anyone in the healthcare industry in Northeastern Oklahoma.  Now that we are building a new main office, we decided to start trying to serve our new expanded field of membership.  Due to our name being so specific, we knew people would think they couldn't join unless they were employees of St. John.  We decided to eliminate that confusion by changing the name; however, we will never eliminate our close, personal ties to St. John.  St. John employees are our core group.  It's where we began, so they will always hold a special place at Encentus!  Now, what is "Encentus?"  Well, it's a word made up out of two other words that mean a lot to us.  First, "incentive."  This refers to the incentives to join a credit union, especially our credit union:  friendly service, low loan rates, and high savings rates.  It also refers to our incentive to serve you and become your main financial institution.  We want your loyalty, and we are trying to earn it!  The second word making up "Encentus" is the word "us," which refers to how people (us) came together to form this great credit union!   So, no, we didn't merge, get sold, or anything like that.  We are trying to grow so we can provide you with all the services you could possibly need from your financial institution.  The new name may seem a little weird at first, but give it a chance.  It just might grow on you!
